It
started with Eric and GWAC abandoning snowsliding photography
on the powder-covered hills of Lake Louise in order to pursue
some ultimate in Winnipeg with Doc Rob. While immersing deeply
into the touring scene, the idea began to take shape. Late
in the fall of 2000, after mentally and physically recovering
from an especially busy season, relaxation finally faded into
ultimate jonesing. Opportunities very opportunely presented
themselves, gainful employment was terminated, and the formidable
helm of Publisher was donned. Leaning on experience and contacts
from snowboarding photojournalism, as well as much research,
time, and investment, along with several very able-bodied
assistants, plus the helping hands and support of friends,
family, and ulti crews everywhere, Chasing Plastic Magazine
was launched, and pushed down the inevitable road to world
domination…er, I mean down the path to becoming a staple
for the knowledge-hungry ultimate frisbee masses.
So now you know the story, and can impress team mates with
this entirely inconsequential bit of trivia.
