Ah, Bo-Down…this still ranks as tops in tourney fun.

A little background information to start. RUFDC is the Regina Ultimate Flying Disc Club, most often pronounced Rough Dick. Boh is short for Bohemian, an average sort of beer only available in Saskatchewan (and recently discontinued by the capitalist swine who brew it) that has been adopted by the local ultimate players, and which the tourney is named after.

For the third straight year RUFDC gave away a vehicle for the most spirited team in the tournament. This year's prize was a classic '68 Ford van, done up with style in the Boh-Down colors. As per usual everything was taken care of: lots to eat and drink, parties every night. The tourney gives away a ludicrous amount of Boh, stacks of red and green beer cases handed out at random. The morning after the tourney was a holiday, and the breakfast feast at the Waldie household has brilliant, and included a full case of oranges squeezed into fresh juice.

As for the competition, Sunday's wind brought in the huck and zone play. The A-Side had Lawn Party of Calgary beat AKWAC's Chaos in one semi; local heroes Got Poop? took down Smokeshow's Chaos in the other semi. Although the home team played alright, Lawn Party ate Poop to take the 3rd Boh-Down Championship in the 4th annual tourney.
The B-side final had G-Men, the Calgary Juniors squad, defeat Regina's Agent Orange on the flip, as no team scored an up-winder.

And the big prize: Snatch from Regina won the spirit award and the coveted Boh-Mobile 02.

Rumor has it that the 2003 Boh-Mobile will be a Nissan 300ZX.
